Vital documents: How one biopharma company protected theirs against water damage
Most companies have a plan in place to protect their vital documents in the event of a fire. But what if the same devices used to protect against fire, caused significant damage?
|
1.0 The Challenge
A large biopharmaceutical company was faced with this very problem after being audited by one of its business partners. The results of the audit found that many vital documents were fully exposed and did not have adequate protection against sprinklers.
Having provided high density storage solutions to this company in the past, the client came to TAB to see what suggestions we could offer.
1.1 Surveying the area
TAB surveyed the eight separate filing areas within the organization that stored vital documents. There were different sets of challenges in each, and solutions were needed to:
— Add water protection to existing high density systems
— Replace shelving and storage equipment that offered no protection or security
— Design storage solutions for rolling carts with engineering drawings
2.0 Choosing TAB
After reading through our proposal and the proposals of competing companies, the client was able to weigh our solution versus more expensive fire suppression systems. What they found was TAB’s solution both fulfilled their needs and was a fraction of what the fire suppression systems would cost.
2.1 Complete team effort
Throughout this process, it took everyone involved to strategize and implement this project.
— The client was willing to work with us and allow us to do what we do best which is customize options that fit their specific need.
— Our account representative was able to survey the area and communicate with the rest of the team what they saw and recommended.
— TAB’s customer service team provided a huge amount of input and expertise in the course of designing and retrofitting existing systems and designing new systems.
— Our local installers were invaluable throughout the process, retrofitting existing systems with new equipment and integrating the new TAB systems.
